When I go to make a left hand turn there is a strange noise, like something is rubbing up against the wheel or something. It sounds like when you put a card in the spokes of a bike. What could it be?

Check your inner fender well. Maybe it came loose.
Have someone else steer the car slowly and you walk with it and look and listen.

Check for something Stuck in the backing plate of the rotor. For me i live in NE so when i had a similar noise, I had rust that built up on the edges of the rotors that the pads don't contact. My rust ridges would contact the caliper bracket on hard turns.
