Well it was time for a change....

I have had my 8in kicker in my spare tire compartment and it was time for a change. I decided to run 2 12's in the trunk instead. I know the subs aren't the best but I just needed more bass and there were cheap and local... instant gratification hahahaha These were on sale and let me tell you what a difference. An 8in kicker hits pretty good but an 8 vs 2 12s just cant be compared.

Hey, they are still subs! I took my 15's out recently and feel naked lol. Needed room to move stuff. Dont know if I wanna put em back I like the extra room too much! Might have to figure something small out.

LOL Andy, go ahead and put them back in. The last 3 cars I had before the truck have all had subs in them, now every car I get into that doesnt have them I feel like they are missing something. An SUV is made for bass, its like a big giant box just rolling around

Yeah I know, thats why I didnt get rid of them and I kept all the wiring in place! I will probably end up putting them back in down the road. Love my bass but need the room, especially during the summer for camping

I have thought about that. Also thought about doing something were the stock sub goes too. Just cant figure out what I want to do.

I had an 8in Kicker CVT in there. It sounded pretty good honestly. The area was matted also behind it. Problem is a small space like that limits the use of a big box. The CVT performed great in there but the issue that I was having was that it would distort under any real bass. If you just want a little more "kick" with your music then 1 8 will do it. I think that size is what really matters when it comes to bass.

I have been looking at the 8's that are out there. They dont look to bad. Its just going from 2 15's down to one 8 thats getting me! I wont be able to shake the roof anymore lol

slowstang, how many watts are you pushing to those subs?

i currently have 1K watts pushing a 12" L7, thinking of switching to two 10's or maybe even 8's.
