Well my Yukon got broke into last night.....They stole the sub, amp, and box. They tried to get in through the passenger door first, then they moved to the rear hatch, and then the passenger rear window. The passenger door lock has been hit with a hammer and a punch, they used a pry bar and tried prying open the rear hatch, then the just smashed out the rear passenger window. The damage includes the following.....Broken drivers side door panel, broken door lock cylinder, smashed window, scratched passenger rear door where they tried prying the window open, dents and paint gone on the hatch. I am ready to beat some ass!

I will get pictured in the morning....

Well I never thought anything of it, because we live in a circle drive and we are the only people that live in the circle drive, and it was parked right behind our garage right by my parents window. I am going to get an alarm tho!!

Sounds like they spent a little time and effort to get your stuff. Sounds a bit noisy too. Was anyone home when this happened?

Thats a lot of effort to get in. Sorry to hear man. The damage left behind is sometimes worse than the fact they took stuff.

Exactly. Its the damage they left that would piss me off. To the OP I can bet its someone you know, or heard your system thumping. Its normally a inside job most times, people in neighborhood etc. I would never bump my system around the neighborhood. Where Ill be parking. The thieves were very comfortable, with all the effort they tried to get into your truck with. They must have seen someone left, and felt like they had time and can make noise.

TO OP, what all did your system consist of?

This the type of situation you wish you catch the thief with their hands in the cookie jar, and a bullet in their back for trespassing.

Ya, I don't care that they took the stuff, because I have full coverage. It was 2:00am when I got home, and my parents were both in bed. The only damage that makes me mad is the rear hatch, and the passenger door where they scratched. I got to looking into it more, and the rear hatch is also twisted where they tried breaking in there. I am very surprised no one woke up in my house expecially my parents.

I had a Memphis Mojo 12" Sub, Just built custom enclosure, and my Memphis 1000watt amp.

I guess its time to get a FI BTL 12" with a Hifonics Amp!!

And to top it all off it rained 1" that night so there is a little water damage as well.....

See, this is where most got it wrong. It doesn't matter that I/you live an a good safe neighborhood, someday, sometime we're gonna have to drive somewhere and park and this is when the alarm/security system kicks in. Also, thieves will more times than not hit quiet neighborhoods because people living in nice neighborhoods are more carefree and less likely to be on lookout as opposed to bad neighborhoods.

I have an alarm and lojack and it gets armed even if I'm gonna be looking at it. Just piece of mind now granted, the alarm is not gonna keep anyone from taking it but it'l make 'em think about it and put in work or make them move on to another vehicle. Odds are that if you had an alarm, they would've moved on to another and we wouldn't be having this conversation.. My .02

First mod done to any vehicle that will be getting modded should be a good security system. Nuff said..
