I thought I read somewhere they make conversion u-joints with different caps on the crosshairs to match what you are fitting together.
Yeah they do. I'm worried about the driveshaft part, if it's too short then I would be weeks away from having the truck ready.

I wanna get this thing back on the road quickly. At my power level, I am confident the stock 8.6 ring gear with the beefed up diff will be plenty strong.

Some people have remarked the locker is optimal for snow and the posi can have issues with both tires spinning.

Not sure if it applies to this truetrac.

It’s not a black and white answer to what happens with LSD in the snow. Sometimes it’ll help. For example one tire on ice, the other side on dry pavement. LSD has a bias to rotate both axles at the same speed, so it’ll help you get moving.

Sometimes it hinders. E.G. ice on a crowned road under both tires. Both will likely break traction simultaneously and sideways you will go. Turning tight corners with minimal traction is another situation that can be tricky because LSD will be biased to maintain a straight line.

On the whole the benefits outweigh the negatives, especially considering you have a 4x4 where you have the front axle working. Very few drivers would be able to operate a vehicle in 4x4 and feel any difference from LSD in the rear. Operating in 2WD is where the difference is more apparent.

Ok sounds perfect upgrade then.

Ive got the diff almost out just struggling with the axle clips. Gonna try a smaller magnet tomorrow.
