No reason to walk into a dealer and waste your time on their home turf. Email. Easy peasy.

The only argument to going to a dealership is it shows far more commitment to purchase. You're there, in person, telling them that you will do the deal today. They can physically watch the money walk out the door should they choose to.
Email is far easier and you can cover more dealerships in a shorter time, but nothing shows commitment to your promise to purchase like standing in the dealership
Cash is king.

What if you went into a dealership and negotiated a price assuming you will finance and then tell the finance guy that you've decided to pay cash? Would they adjust the price?
You have to be careful. There are some rebates that require manufacturer supported financing in order to be eligible for the rebate. While not frequent with GM in my experience, it is frequent with Ford and some other manufacturers. It is all a numbers game. And, if you take the manufactures financing, you can always refi for a lower rate once the account is set up.no. you just tell them the finance guy couldn't get you a good enough rate so you're going to self finance.
