Exact email I sent multiple dealerships:

Below is the pricing I want to pay for the vehicle on your lot. I have also included references from other dealerships to show how I arrived at this number.

http://www.jameswooddecatur.com/VehicleDetails/new-2017-GMC-Yukon-Denali-Decatur-TX/3002663733

Dennis Dillon GMC (i use the “Sale price” for this reference and not the “As low as” price):

Vehicle Example 1:

Sale price: $64,239

Options INCLUDED on this vehicle (but not on yours):

- 22” 6 spoke chrome multi-featured design (-$2,900)

- 4x4 (-$3,000)

Options NOT included on this vehicle (but included on yours):

- Power Retractable Running boards ($1,745)

- 22” machined aluminum rims ($2,495)

This would bring the total price of this vehicle to: $62,579

http://www.laurabuickgmc.com/Vehicl...kon-4WD_4dr_Denali-Collinsville-IL/2897450873

http://www.laurabuickgmc.com/Vehicl...kon-4WD_4dr_Denali-Collinsville-IL/2898529103

The median price of the 3 vehicles mentioned in the emails: $66,435

Ok. There's a lot of data there.

And they are responding how much over what you are asking?

Closest i've gotten so far is about $3,500 over what I am asking. My emails do contain a lot of data but they prove ive done the research and that I am a serious buyer.

Unfortunately most just look at the email and go "Well they're offering about 9k off MSRP and so are we". That doesnt take into account percentages off MSRP and that different vehicles have different MSRP (hence why i state what the option differences are between vehicles offered and vehicles researched).

as a car salesman I will tell you that all msrp window stickers are bogus and also add ons paint protection warranty's etc etc
the dealer price on a particular car is less than the msrp. our deals in lue of the manufactures rebates factory prices etc are all incentives that lower the price for customers but don't think the dealership looses money. The average Joe comes in with bad credit or no internet searches and shopping around says he can only afford x amount a month and we will get him in that car.
You tahoe yukon forum members most know the deal and keep shopping and walking till you get what you want, eventually you will get it. Most times I tell friends to get 10
% minimum of msrp and that's a fair deal but start at 20% you will be told NO WAY unless I have had a car on the lot for a long time every month that car I am paying a payment like you LONGER IT SITS THE MORE I LOOSE and I need to move it. If its a great seller than you get less of a deal, I know what each car has to sell for for the company to make profit or break even and we try to get every dollar above that

They may also prove that you are completely in love with this exact vehicle and they may try to wait you out knowing you'll buy eventually.

I'd just reply to them and say "sorry to hear you can't get close to my asking price, I'm making the same offer to 3 other dealers and then doing the same with ford this weekend. If you want to get the deal done certainly feel free to reach out."

Something like that.

All great info. For every single one who has said "Oh my manager cant go any lower than this" I have replied "You have my contact information". Ill let them chase me.

At the end of the day (thanks to this forum) I know that Laura's exists. Yea its further away but I know I will get a hell of a deal with no hassle.

Wow, those are some long emails you are sending...Keep it simple and short, the attention span of most individuals nowadays is short and most probably won't ever read all that. Just my two cents...

The emails appear much shorter in the actual message, theyre just spaced out in the forum.

But I do understand what youre saying. Short and sweet. I just dont want to play the back and forth. I figure if I give them my number and my logic of how I got there, it gives a lot more weight then just throwing out a random number and hoping for the best.

I want them to atleast entertain my offer, not discard it because its a waste of time.

Dillion GMC is having some huge discounts. Unfortunately they dont have the vehicle I am looking for by 59k for a 4wd Denali is the deal of the century.

Just out of curiosity, what options are missing from the inventory at Dillon? What don't they have that you're looking for?

They dont have a vehicle with the 22" Machined Aluminum Wheels, ACC, Open Road, 4wd, that is Silver exterior with Black Interior.

They have great deals but I dont want to spend $60k+ on a vehicle that doesnt meet my needs/wants. Then its just a waste of money.
