Cleaned the throttle body and maf and new air filter, doesn't look like it was ever done, cheaper to buy the injector cleaner by the gallon anymore since I use it on all the vehicles 12oz per tank full once in a while, this thing runs pretty good but I do notice a very slight hesitation usually cleaning the intake and some injector treatment for a few tanks smooths it out1000003414.jpg

Had an intermittent rubbing/grinding noise in rear passenger area when I picked up my truck from AC repair last week. Inner splash guard was missing a grommet. :( on one hand I'm glad it was simple but... nvm I'll just leave the other hand out of it this one time.

Programmed it with the superchips f5, turned off the limiter and afm used there trans tune. This has the 5.3 so it should do around 136-137 now took it up to 115 to verify but not enough runway to get anymore out of it, the f5 allows tpms adjustment by the way. Also allows you to adjust the throttle response like a pedal commander

Do you have an aftermarket driveshaft?
I’ve read that our factory driveshaft will rattle themselves to shreds fairly easily above 100mph for any sustained amounts of time.

no, that's rubbish. I mean I guess it "could" happen but it's unlikely they sure do not make anything different for the PPV's
I can't tell you how many hours I have driven well over 100, it's a lot, hell I hit a 100+ daily, multiple times a day....

when you are up at 130+ then it seems kind of sketchy lol, never know whats going to happen once you are there and beyond my concerns then are more towards the tires than the drive line. GM knows how fast these can go, the oem limiter is generally based on the factory tire rating, if you raise the limiter raise the tire rating as well.
the Tahoe PPV's usually have goodyear RSA's which are v rated. I personally run the Goodyear eagle sport a/s which are also v rated but are a 20" tire with a little more sidewall.
tires are speed rated by testing them at there rated speed for *** amount of continuous hours, so even if you go over the rated speed for a short period you are probably fine i'm sure it happens all the time everywhere.

ordered new rotors for it, these ones are only marketed for the 08-10 ppv's tahoe's but fit all 1500's with few exceptions
I have had them on the silverado for 3 years already still work fantastic

Installed the thermostat bypass for the transmission View attachment 407102

Did mine this morning. I hate these quick connections. I thought everything was peachy. Idled until it started warming. Went for a test drive, and the one toward the top popped loose. F#$&&king mess. Deputy pulled up thinking it was on fire.

Got under and the line snapped in. Audibly and by touch. Had some fluid with me so added it. Started limping home. Almost there and that connector popped again.

In case anyone needs the quick connectors, they are:
GM 19210848
NAPA 730-5088
Dorman 800-727

Any parts searches will probably need to be for a 2014 Tahoe.
