Made time to wash, clay bar, compound and wax. Tried it by hand and took hours. I’m happy with the results, but I will be investing in a DA polisher for sure.

Today I put on summer tires and new forged wheels. They look awesome. The new rims weigh 15 kg, against 20 kg to the original ones. It feels like lunch sneakers after boots

This past weekend I removed the "GMC" badge from the rear liftgate, as one of the mildest mods I've done so far on my Yukon. It was long overdue, but it turned out great. I ended up using some 50lb fishing line and adhesive remover I bought from Walmart. I didn't use any power tools to grind down the double-sided foam adhesive strips, so in all, it took me about 2 hours from start to finish. The fishing line was difficult to grasp and move it in a sawing motion behind each letter, but it got the job done. I then used one of my ultra fine micro fiber cleaning towels and squirts of the adhesive solution to rub off the adhesive. Afterwards, I used some of my ceramic detailer to buff the finish.

The "GMC" is faded into the Vader Chrome of the tailgate, but it's not horrible. I'm sure i can buff it down, but I don't want to risk any damage. That last close up picture looks pretty bad, but a large part of it is dust, dirt and lighting.

EDIT: I used some compound paste to clean up those fine scratches and that "ghosted" GMC, so it looks fantastic now.

Good stuff. I'd just advise anyone using the fishing-line method to keep the pressure on the line outward/away from the applique and against the back of the letters so as to avoid sawing the line across the applique's finish. (I'm sure you did just that, but think it's a good note of precaution to anyone who hasn't removed emblems this way.)
