Always love when you chime in, Dave I'm a nerd so I want some chop chop choparoo
I had no idea Holdener had his own cam grind! I love the chop, too, and definitely want and aggressive idle.
I think with the 4.11's and the deep gearing of the 6L, it'll spend more time in the higher RPMs.
Drive it like ya stole it! I'm the same way, usually driving like I'm running late, even if I'm half hour early. Mine sees over 4k daily with 3.08 gears I'd imagine it's going to see it more often with 4.11's. This thing is an absolute pig unless you stomp on it, due to the gearing. I did the math on final gear ratios with 3.73 and 4.11, and I like where the math puts 4.11's. It essentially drops 3/4/5/6 all down to the next gear down (IE-4th will behave like 3rd does now, etc.). ANYTHING will help the city mileage, as currently you have to put your foot IN it to get it to start moving.
I've debated doing the Truck Norris cam, too, but I'll be doing springs either way.
It's getting lifters, springs, pushrods, seals, the works. Mine's got 243 heads, so I'm thankful for that.
The 109° LSA is indeed tight on the Stage IV, but even the Stage I is a 112°. I mean hell, the Truck Norris is a 107! Now, I could look into TSP's low lift cams, as they're a 111° on the stage 3, or 112° LSA with 3° built-in on the stage 4...
I just don't think that the low-end is going to be an issue with the loose converter.
Time to do some more digging. Thanks for the input fellas!
I went with TSP VVT-1 cam and I absolutely love it. There is torque all through the powerband, and after 4500 RPM it feels like the front end gets light. All I need are flaps and I could probably fly! Also, driving in the Rockies with this cam, almost makes my 6.2 feel like a diesel pulling.

Yessir. Blackbear did the tune for me and they did a great job.Did you have to get a tune after installing the cam?
I just did a little snooping around on the cam motion stage 2 and I like what I’m seeing. I want to wake up my 4.8 just a bit
Thanks that was my next question…Yessir. Blackbear did the tune for me and they did a great job.
Thanks that was my next question…
I’ll add it to my Christmas list. Going from 6.0 to 4.8 leaves a lot to be desired. Maybe the cam will help.
Just doesn’t make sense for me. It’s my work van.Long-tube headers would really help down low. Probably more than any cam could.
Why not find a junkyard 6.0 and swap it in?
I was just checking the site out, and it looks like Texas Speed doesn't offer VVT cams anymore. I bought mine about 3 years ago, maybe the demand wasn't high enough for them to keep making them.
Can you link your product webpage here? Whenever I search for my year/make/model the TSP website directs for Godzilla 7.3 cams.
Or perhaps the problems they were having with people installing them caused them to pull back.I was just checking the site out, and it looks like Texas Speed doesn't offer VVT cams anymore. I bought mine about 3 years ago, maybe the demand wasn't high enough for them to keep making them.
