Those headlights tho.....
I still see alot of good parts!! People like those Z71 racks.Sayin goodbye to an old friend. The 03 z71 I learned to drive in when my mother owned it. It worked it’s way into my sister in-law’s possession and finally after 311,000ish miles she was gettin tired.
Salvaging parts with any cost and scrapping the rest. I really am surprised at how few issues this platform had since 05 when she got it.

Thanks for helping me spend $14. It was time for new filters though.
Very cool. Sounds like the encoder motor is a fairly common failure in these t-cases.Fixed the 4x4 mode.
Before if I selected 4x4 mode, the mode light on the switch changed to that, but the Tech 2 indicated that it switches for a second to 4x4, then goes to Auto. Same in 4LO, it gears down but not in 4wd. Functionally that's the way it was working (as Auto, never full time 4x4), but the switch doesn't indicate that. No DTC codes for the transfer case. Weird.
So, after some tests pulling propshafts, etc., replacing the encoder motor on the transfer case fixed it, and now when I switch it to 4x4 all four wheels engage full time. If I didn't have the Tech 2 I'd have just been guessing.
Hell yeah, looks great.Got her polished up and waxed. I’ve purchased almost all the supplies I need to get this done, but just never seem to have the time. So paid a neighborhood guy to do a 3-step exterior treatment. Very happy with the results. She’s showing her age in the little paint chips, but considering a 15 year old GM paint job, I think she looks great! Will be doing the interior detail next..
