What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Tony (etal).... Thinking about mounting my 6' LED strip under my front door panels......

Instead of having to remove the door panel, I notice the panel 'map pocket'.....
Anyone just remove the pocket, while the panel is on the door?
'cause, maybe I can access the powered panel light & even gain access to the bottom panel when the pocket is removed. ( I avoid at all costs, un-doing the panel)
....... I could 'test' removing that pocket, but I don't want to risk breaking something.

( I added PICTURES of my panel due to different year/ models)

That pocket is attached to the door panel with screws from the bottom of the panel which can only be accessed by removing the door panel. It’s easy to pull the panel off.

Iirc, you can get to the screws from underneath(outside)the door panel and the picket will slide out. You can squeeze your hand in that hole and try to grab that wire, but it really isn't too bad to remove the door panel.

Ahhh yes you are right, I just looked. You can pull those screws with the panel on the door.

Thanks all...... I will also need to mount the LED strip.... ( not sure best way, yet ).....

But your suggestion, ..Better to just remove the panel for ease of access. ( So much for a short cut)

But.... TODAY,..... I am gluing a fog lamp lens.. It fell off on my driveway yesterday after washing.

I was not going to use my hands , holding the lens for 4 hours for glue to cure, so I improvised.....

Paint stir sticks fit perfect, to press on it.
At LEAST the lens fell on my driveway !!

If I am not confident the seal is perfect, I will remove the fixture and put a bead of sealant around the outer edge.

I'd put silicone around it also. If not now, it'll eventually fog too.

Also... since I will install the HID fog kit, I just figured I better remove both lamps to reinforce them, so my pricey mod doesn't fail.....

Ha! Makes sense. When they do get moisture in them, the reflective background starts to flake off.

I used LED strips with 3M high bond adhesive tape on them, cleaned the area with alcohol and dry wiped it, and stuck them in place across the bottom of the door. They’re still on 2 years later.
