Swapping out diff fluid, since apparently last time my gasket and RTV was too sloppy, and it was wet/seeping. Trying a lube locker this time. Figured I’d do a quick spray of the pitted rusty diff cover, cause why not. Lightly sanded and used what I hand on hand, Krylon all in one primer/gloss black. No concours level job here…

Yesterday I replaced my PCM, hoping it was the cause of my trans going into limp mode after it warms up. Programming that module with my Tech2 using Tech2Win turned into a real headache but I finally figured it out. Then I went to install my tune with my Autocal and it wouldn’t let me without buying a new VIN license so I did that ($125) and loaded the tune. Then it needed a crankshaft variance relearn and it wouldn’t do that. I found out last night thanks to @Doubeleive that since I didn’t set the park brake like instructed that was most likely the problem. I got that done this morning so now I’ll be testing today to see if my issue is resolved. Fingers crossed.

huh that's weird I would think after the pcm was flashed it would be identified as being the same vin as before.

When you use EFI Live to program a PCM or TCM it licenses the actual module. BB said sometimes they can get a free VIN license from then in case of swapping a module in the same vehicle but it’s hit and miss and takes at least a week.

But anyway, that didn’t work. It went into limp mode again awhile ago. The search continues. Still haven’t heard back from BB after I sent a second set of log files in that include shifting requests. The tune needed to be updated for this data to be included when logging. So that’s been a long ordeal. I’m trying to be patient. I’ll inspect and clean all grounds on the truck next. I’ll keep checking possibilities off the list.

What brought you to presume it would be the pcm versus the tcm?

On an 02 they’re integrated, there’s no separate TCM. It’s also why there’s not much trans diagnostics on these using the Tech2. If I go into the TCM program on it, it just says “ no communication”. I can’t command shift solenoids and such like you can when there’s a TCM. Makes it easier loading tunes though, there’s just one file instead of two.

Got all my buttons lit. Red for the steering wheel controls, blue & white for climate control, purple for the cluster & radio.
I didn't even think about the climate control. I just finally did the gauge cluster in blue. Are the climate control soldered?

I did some easy stuff today, it was too hot in Texas today to do exhaust work, so install the cheap CAI I got off Amazon. It's actually a decent tube and filter For the price. Probably just upgrade the filter later.
Then i brought the cluster in to install blue LED's and replaced the taillight's bulbs with LED's too.
I also finally replaced the badges, they came off fairly easy in the heat.
