Yeah, I posted a pic of the one I just put in over in the NNBS thread where you asked about yours. This GM one says china on it as well. The shop put in “csc1064” which looks to be carquest? And now that I just looked at the invoice I’m mad that I paid a huge markup on that part. I had a bad feeling when I picked it up as I’ve read numerous threads here about these rigs not liking anything but OEM.

Live and learn, I guess. At least I got a new fuel pump and FPR in it after I fired the parts cannon. Hahahahaha.
Idk how I wound up in the 900 thread that day, lol

@MassHoe04 its one my dad's toys. I'm not entirely sure on the model other than being called a highboy. Dad has gotten into car shows over the last few years and takes that one fairly often. The camaros are on the other side of the shop. Then he has others at my sisters place.
Beauties! What a great shop set-up, too!
he hot rod looks like it might be a fiberglass body, but looks to be a '32-34 Ford roadster. VERY well done!!

I spy, with my little eye, a 1950's Chevy pickup peeking out of the corner too.
Must be really tough to choose...

Living the good life!!!

@MassHoe04 i believe dad said it was custom built by the guy he bought it from. And yea, I believe its fiberglass. The truck is my sister's.
The shop is great. Its a farm shop. But parents got out last year and sold the place. They're having a house built now and Dad is figuring on building a new shop next summer.

Got my gas cans filled and worked on the Taho-Escalade. Worked on is a loose term, I fixed the fact my headache just ended by banging my head when I closed the lift gate. I think that strap GM provided doesn't do anything helpful. I also dislodged the exterior door handle. Friend of mine lent me his Saturn Vue. The exterior door handles are strange. You go up to it and think "I'll pull it to me, looks like that's what you do" but you have to pull the handle up. It's odd and annoying, then I get in my Tahoe and break my door handle.
I've rambled enough. Just annoyed over my door handle breaking from my stupidity.

Today I finally finished putting my 04 Tahoe z71 back together. It all started with a plugged drain for the rear a/c. Flooded the carpet all the way under pass front seat. Dried with fans for 2 weeks. Found carpet started stinkin. So I removed the carpet and all the interior. Cleaned the carpet with APC and drill brush and pressure washer. Cleaned every panel for interior. Then thought hell I'm already this far, so I dropped the headliner. Recovered it. Refinished the dash with ColorBond LVP Neutral tan. This has been in the works for about month and a half. Damn thing looks brand new inside. One of the cleanest 04s out there. Not from defects but any dirt.

How’d the headliner go? That’s the last thing I need to do to my interior. I’ve just been afraid to tackle it.

To be honest it was a *****! But worth it. Bought the 65" wide roll because the 60" roll would have been a little short. I rolled the material over the edges so maybe can prevent that dreaded windshield and side window sagging. Make sure you use the best spray adhesive you can buy. Also I got a tip from a upholstery shop I service the hvac at. Be careful not to pull the old foam off if you don't have to. It might come off in places but you just run some sand paper 120 grit to feather it and once covered DO NOT reinstall it with your fingertips. The flue will be green for several days and it will make a permanent finger dents. Flat handed is the way to go.
