I had to go to work at 2 AM today and noticed some de-icer had been applied to the road and there was a bit of icy sheen. I looked at my mirror display to check the temp and saw it was 35 degrees, but then it said "Ice" and went back to temp. It did this a few times then stopped and just displayed temp and there was no more ice on the road. I had no idea my Denali had this feature! I assume it used a combo of temp and traction control to diagnose the condition.
My 03 does the same exact thing.
Sounds like one of the symptoms when my transfer case took a shit on me last year. Getting stuck in 4 lo without pushing the button, then throwing the SVC 4WD light and and the traction control turning itself on and off.

Luckily once my service 4wd came on it was the front axle. Replaced it and it was all good.

That's exactly what was wrong with mine, encoder motor & sensor, also bent the encoder motor shift fork. $1100.00

Uuuggggh..

I've read some people getting away with just replacing the sensor. So, hopefully that will be all I have to do.

I hope so, I let mine go for a while and just kept resetting it by disconnecting the battery. But it started ******* up in the snow and it had to be done.

Good luck bro.

What are you guys running for LED's in the license plate. I like JDM ASTAR bulbs, but I know that the ones in the license plate need to be pretty short or low profile. Here's what I was running but they flickered like hell til they burnt out.

I'm gonna put eagle eyes in my license plate bulb housing soon as I can get the time to do it. I did my car and it was brighter than I thought it would be lol

How long was the boat ride for them to get here?

Not bad actually, about 2 weeks to Alaska. but I think it was a mistake , usually takes abut 4 weeks normally from China.

But they're weird , instead of encased in glass they're encased in squishy clear rubber silicone, like what they put in fake *******
