Requested tint quotes from 3 different shops yesterday. Heard back from 2 today.

-1st was a guy I've used before, real nice guy, comes to me (he's done all our cars at work, we pull them inside to our lift bay so that's super convenient).
$225 for front 2, rear 5 and a tint strip. Sunroof would be $30 extra. Not sure what kind but he uses Llumar.
He won't do windshields, not sure I want it anyway

-2nd was a shop 10 min up the road, have to take my truck to them.
$400-600 for the front 2 and rear 5 depending on the film
$50 for the tint strip
$75-100 depending on the film for the sunroof
$150-175 for the windshield.

Between almost $700-$1000 for tint!? Needless to say, I won't be going to the second shop :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

When I was shopping last year that was the price difference for them different quality levels of tint offered. No name dyed charcoal construction tint was the cheapest around $200-$250 for windshield, front 2 at 15%, back 5 matched to front, carbon was around $400, ceramic was $650+. Multiple installers said the same thing, get charcoal if you dont care or if you’re not keeping the car, get the cermaic if you want the best heat reduction and you’re keeping the car for a while, and get the middle if you’re being budget minded and keeping the car a while, it just won’t block as much heat as the ceramic.

I’m actually gonna leave it. It dropped the rear just enough to make it level and I actually can get it in and out without too much trouble still lol

What lowering hardware did you use to "drop the rear just enough to make it level?" Was this 2" lowering springs or something else. Stance is just what I want.

I mean, I understand the price differences as far as film is concerned but the cheaper guy is using the middle ground stuff and at $225. The other shop, the middle ground would be around $750.

But, I do understand the difference in their business types. The cheaper guy is mobile out of his truck while the other has a shop, so they have more overhead. But it’s insane how much a difference there is, amazing the other shop gets any business

What I was referring to here was the spare tire leveling the truck from front to rear a tad more. I had about an inch of rake toward the front before putting the spare back in. After, I’m closer to a 1/2”-3/4” rake so it looks better.

As for lowering, if you want it just a tad lower than stock in the rear to level it out, some 2” drop springs should be the ticket.

Here’s a comparison of my truck. Stock height on 22s up top, 2/3 drop on 22s bottom

I like the 2/3 drop on 22's look the best
I did like that a lot. Would love to find another set of those wheels (those were trashed and I sold them to help with the down payment for our house last year) with some smaller tires to run now
