I have the same KYB shocks in the front of my ZW7 Yukon for a year or two now. I like them. I did replace the rear with the OEM NIVOMAT though still. They are expensive but worth it.

Good to know. My Nivomats are still working good, but at some point I'll have to decide whether to replace them with OE shocks or convert to standard shocks and the appropriate springs. For now they self-adjust fine.

WORK ON EXHAUST

Removed exhaust manifolds and mid pipes to install some headers. While I was at it, changed oil & filter, plugs, wires, and added boots to try to protect wires. Found one bolt on each side broken by PO?

Purchased my headers from Speed Engineering, along with some ARP header bolts from Amazon. Not sure if they are the correct ones, but they worked. No fitment issues while installing them. I didn’t find out until after about a few members having fitment issues, but by then was too late. Thanks @Tony rods

Sorry @Sam Harris, I did a poor job of taking pics this time around but, I did get a few for you!

I did have a little difficulty getting them to line back up so that I could tighten them down but eventually got them on. Its hard sometimes when you’re doing things by yourself.

After finishing up, I took it to a muffler shop and had them connect it to the rest of the factory exhaust without cats. While I was there, found out the exhaust is 2 7/8”, not 3”. Has dual pipes all the way until just behind the muffler. Then it goes to a y-pipe and out to the tip as a single pipe. Going to see about getting that changed out to dual at a later date.

Front O2 sensors are attached to headers, but not connected. Was having issues with them before so didn’t bother. Rear O2 sensors are disconnected as well since there’s no place to put them. Eventually will get them tuned out. I want and need to purchase some new ones. Any recommendations other than OEM or should I get them to avoid any future issues?

ACDelco or Bosch are my recommendations for the sensors and make sure to get them in right away, the ECM needs them to adjust mixture. Do you have a tune to eliminate the downstream ones? Otherwise it will throw codes.

No tune as of yet, but I can see about buying the credits I need from HP Tuners to tune it. But I don’t know much about tuning so it may prove a little difficult and time consuming! Need to look into purchasing the O2 sensors sooner than later?

Are the O2 sensors the same for both sides or are they different? And also, is there a difference between the ones for a 5.3 and the 6.0? I know there’s some for the front and some for the rear.

They’re same side to side but different front to back. And yes you need the fronts immediately.

It will run in open loop and it will be rich. I wouldn’t drive for long like that, you’ll probably foul plugs eventually and your gas mileage will be bad. It won’t hurt the engine but if the ECM sees no unburnt fuel it will richen the mixture.

Any difference between 5.3 and 6.0? Looking online and they have different ones between the two is why I’m asking. O2 sensors and then get the tune started to tune out the rears...got it. Always work to be done! Never mind, I see the difference is the connector between the two of them.
