Picked up a free intake from a buddy of mine. He got it from someone else and had no need for it. Looks to be an oem TBSS. After some research, looks like the swap is not direct swap and will require several things. All he gave me was the bare intake.

Not Tahoe content exactly, but figured you guys would still appreciate it.

Buttoning up my '02 Silverado 2500. 6.0 just went down for major overhaul/maintenance. New motor mounts, cam, lifters, hardened pushrods, head studs, refreshed 862 heads, rockers with improved trunion, stainless shorty headers, upgraded trans cooler, tranny fluid change, replaced tranny cooler lines, etc.

Went with a Summit SUM-8719R1, for those curious. .550"/.550" 209/[email protected] 112±1LSA

I expect it'll be pretty happy in the 6.0, particularly with the increase in compression with the 862 heads. Excited to have it all buttoned back up and get it tuned/back on the road.

May I ask why you chose shorty headers?

Easy install and I already had a set. I still have the factory exhaust anyway and it's in great shape. While I would've loved the bump in low end from the long tubes, just wasn't necessary right now to spend the money and go through the effort, especially when I didn't have a better muffler to support the increased flow.

Wow. I am completely backwards. I always thought the shorties were better for low end power, but limited, and the long tubes were for high end power, but more of it. Anyway, thanks for answering my question!

Yep! Long tubes are better in every aspect except packaging. And cost, of course. You're welcome!

I went to the local pick and pull. Replaced the driver's seat controls. Working again!..some other small trim pieces and then rebuilt the center console cup holder and cover assembly by piecing together pieces from an Escalade and Denali set. Its all assembled, just waiting to go in.
