Planning on changing my oil soon, don't have a lot of time but I called the dealer and they wanted me to drop it off....No thanks, I'll just do it myself. I wanted to double check here that I'm ordering the right oil & filter, thanks:

Why? What are you driving now?
2011 Tahoe Z71. Has 110k on it. Great shape just wanting to get a lower mileage vehicle. But with 4 kiddos I need a little more room. Plus the Z71 has the 2nd row bucket seats and I really need the bench.

replaced the flex-a-lite with the true-cool-max, it's about 40% bigger and different design, I was able to use the same mounting points with some minor modifications to the mounting brackets, didn't have to change the hose's either, everything worked. now to see how much difference it actually makes.....

Yes correct stuff.

Buy 3 six packs and another filter for next change, the extra 6 are for what you burn up in between oci’s.... kidding... use a quart from the 3rd 1/2 case to fill oil filter before installing it and for around gasket. You wont use a full quart to fill filter but its always good to have extra oil around. The motor will still take 6 qts even with filling oil filter.

had to open it back up and unbolt it and move the ambient temp sensor onto a side bracket, I should have done it the first time, kept telling me it was 125 deg outside when it's only about 90, on a short 5-6 mile drive the trans didn't go above 151 which is good but it's not 103deg outside today either like it was a couple days ago.

make sure to check fluid level, that cooler will add a little bit of fluid capacity (i think they say 1/2 qt)
with a 3000rpm stall temps cruising are 135-160, 160-190* beating on it...ive maybe seen 200* once or twice that i can remember and i usually keep an eye on it

Ya I just gave her a pretty decent little workout and I only hit 178 with a pretty quick cool down as well I have the B&M pan on there also, so it's already taking a couple extra quarts but I will swing by the trans shop that did the last service and pickup a quart since I haven't added any fluid since I added the flexalite before this. Ambient sensor is reading normal again since I moved it over
