Appointment set with the mechanic for Monday first thing. Tried to get it in today, but the wife had to "go shopping". :eek:
We went through the last TWO sets of tire quite quickly because my wife didn't want to spend the extra $100.

Thankfully she is not "that" kind of shopper. The supermarket and the dogs. The rest is just time wasting and meeting up with her girlfriends and their kids for coffee. Lol I probably shop more for truck parts, or at least look at them. lol...but don't we all.

And if you say you don't then you are...finish that sentence...lol

I wanted it in the shop today, but it was not worth the battle to put her out of the Suburban. And I really don't want her driving the Tahoe....did I just say that? Is that bad? lol.

Our mechanic is a good friend, has taken over the family shop from his dad, has an 05 Tahoe and knows how much I like the trucks. He will get us sorted out at 0730 on Monday. Be interested to see what is off when the printout comes back.

Family road trip coming up so doing some cursory checks around the Suburban.

Noticed this difference in the 2 front tires. Seems like a bit more wear on the outside tread of the passenger front than the driver front.

Rear tires look usual. I notice all the Bridgestones seem to wear down on that outside tread, but having one a bit more than the other seems odd. Tires at 32k.

Figured it might be a good run to the shop for a rotate, balance and alignment check before the trip?

Thoughts?

What are your pressures like?

Been running 35-38psi. Though about going up to 38-40 for the road trip. I check both trucks often to see if they are equal or at least within 1 psi so they are pulling, sagging or hard as a rock.

I try to keep about 38ish in mine but during the winter here it’s almost impossible to get a good reading and to keep them all close to the pressures haha

Good info. I'm heading north to much colder territory than 26 North with extra road miles, so a higher pressure should be good for the pavement pounding.

I ask because edge wear like that can be low pressure related. I always run a bit higher than the door jamb says. Go too high, though, and you'll wear the middle treads faster. Usually you'll see the door jamb number way lower than the max on the tire.
