Not used so much anymore with the now common nail gun. i do recall following my dad around after he hammered finishing nails -- with a hammer, no less -- and I got the job of 'setting' the nails so we could putty over the holes. And I hit the wrong *nail* many times. The fun olden days....
I still use them, sometimes dem guns just don’t wanna set dem nails...

Man I'm sore. Did a super clean of the burb carpet today. What a pain in the ass. And so much to gripe about. Like...who the hell thought to use these star nut things?! Are the front seats REALLY that desirable that they need a theft deterrant? And...why the hell are there two different sizes of fastener on the second row seats?! ARrrrrrgHhh!!

Anyhooooo, the carpet in the burb was pretty bad. It's still not great, but it's definitely better. This is the type of nonsense I was dealing with:

Just blech. So my concoction today was the use of hot water + bissell carpet cleaner with febreeze (its what I had lying around) and used it in a healthy concentration. I combined that with a harbor freight steam cleaner that I picked up for 80 bucks w/ coupon and my bissell carpet cleaner w/ manual extractor wand thing. Like I said, it's definitely better. 300 bucks for new carpet in this thing is steep so I'll get by with this for awhile. Smells better, and I'm generally satisfied with it.

Here's some after pics:

Obviously taking the seats out gave me the opportunity to vacuum all the 12 years of crap that has been dropped as well as wipe off all the trim pieces that are at floor level. Found about a buck in quarters, but I tossed it, they were sticky and gross and not worth my time. Anyhow, I found $150 in cash in the truck a few months ago that I didnt put there, so I'll let the dollar go.
You just need 12 point sockets for those seat bolts.
