I have E85 in a few spots around town, I tried it for the first time the other month. Honestly wasn't impressed. Horrible gas mileage, but I did save I think it was .45 per gallon. I lost about 3-3.5 mpg though using it.

Not enough time, need to run a few tanks. Yours is rated for 11 City, 16 Highway and 13 Combined MPGs for running E85. A couple or three or four tanks will get the motor up to max power. Then do the math for cents per mile cost to see if it's worth it purely from a money standpoint.

I'm paying about thirteen cents a mile to run my truck now on E30 and she still makes gobs of power with zero detonation. Sure beats nearly a quarter a mile on 93 octane gasoline!

Excuse the dirty engine bay (looks better in person), but it’s pretty much all tidied up. Tested the 35 shot jets and couldn’t feel much of a difference. Worried about this 4L60 tho... I plan on putting in a Performabuilt 4L80 which they claim holds 1000+ rwhp. They also have a killer warranty. As previously posted, i might ditch the LSA blower I have for some twins. Also.... had to get a matching Yeti View attachment 218312 View attachment 218313 View attachment 218314

I had a performabuild trans and converter in my 05 hoe. It would high rev then drop before shift into 3rd gear. After a couple years I noticed something was wrong with it or whatever stock parts were reused.

Idk exactly what it was or if it even was their trans. Id be sitting on a slight incline and go to take off it would just rev up and then catch then finally take off. I would of looked into it more but the rust got to be to much and i sold it.

Dont take this as theyre junk. Its just what I experienced.

Oh i also went stock 4l whatever and got the heavy hauler version

From what ive seen, they’ve sold tons of units and their customer service is top notch. Also heard great things about RPM and FLT. There seem to be some “horror” stories with every builder, so it’s a tough choice

Alright ladies and jelly spohns, here it is...

I noticed today while cruising about 60mph there is a very annoying drone... it makes the road noise from the tires sound like a... wha- wha- wha.... so I think I'm gonna have to add the resonator back in.

I think I will see if they can stick the resonator up in front of the muffler instead of back at the tail pipe... we shall see... I am getting pretty tired of fooling with it at this point.

I think it sounds pretty good from outside the truck but I can't take the drone.
Agreed. Sounds damn good outside the truck [emoji16] Too bad about the drone. Damn, you’ve had to spend a lot of time and money getting it right. [emoji53]

Yeah... I hate it when you try something and it doesn't work out the way you think/hope it will and then you try different things only to find out your still not happy.

Oh well, sometimes it just works out that way I guess... trial and error... I will get it squared away eventually though.

I guess it's a good thing I got the headers for half price... although I have probably spent what I saved on the headers on all the other "experiments"... lol

So far I am...

$275 for the headers (New from JBA =$600+) a guy bought them for his Tahoe and never installed them before trading his truck.

$40 for cat removal... I sold the guy at the muffler shop a 61 disk Technics CD changer for $40 so that one is a break even deal.

Then, the same day I had them add in the used Magnaflow style muffler to make the beast quieter... that was $40 including the muffler.

Then I had them build me a new Y-pipe out of 2.25" pipe to regain the lost bottom end... that was $125

Then I bought the new 3 chamber Magnaflow for $90 including shipping and they charged me $60 to cut the old mufflers out and weld the new muffler in, including removing the resonator out back and bending new pipe to run the tip out the back.... SO...

$275 + $40 + $125 + $90 + $60 = $590 so still about the same price as just the headers alone but I have a completely new exhaust system at this point. Hopefully Monday will be the last time I spend any money on exhaust for a looong time.

That guy is pretty cheap. Thief near me charged me almost $200 to cut my old stock one out and weld in my MBRP. Hit me with the charge once he was done. That was my fault, should've asked 1st.
