Don't forget everything is more expensive in Jersey, and crooks on each corner.Still good. This was a Meineke.
now that is hustling.Yeah... I hate it when you try something and it doesn't work out the way you think/hope it will and then you try different things only to find out your still not happy.
Oh well, sometimes it just works out that way I guess... trial and error... I will get it squared away eventually though.
I guess it's a good thing I got the headers for half price... although I have probably spent what I saved on the headers on all the other "experiments"... lol
So far I am...
$275 for the headers (New from JBA =$600+) a guy bought them for his Tahoe and never installed them before trading his truck.
$40 for cat removal... I sold the guy at the muffler shop a 61 disk Technics CD changer for $40 so that one is a break even deal.
Then, the same day I had them add in the used Magnaflow style muffler to make the beast quieter... that was $40 including the muffler.
Then I had them build me a new Y-pipe out of 2.25" pipe to regain the lost bottom end... that was $125
Then I bought the new 3 chamber Magnaflow for $90 including shipping and they charged me $60 to cut the old mufflers out and weld the new muffler in, including removing the resonator out back and bending new pipe to run the tip out the back.... SO...
$275 + $40 + $125 + $90 + $60 = $590 so still about the same price as just the headers alone but I have a completely new exhaust system at this point. Hopefully Monday will be the last time I spend any money on exhaust for a looong time.
True dat!Don't forget everything is more expensive in Jersey, and crooks on each corner.
Sounds like some good prices/ negotiation for the work done. That’s awesome. [emoji106]Yeah... I hate it when you try something and it doesn't work out the way you think/hope it will and then you try different things only to find out your still not happy.

I like the tone it makes. You are right, it is quite a bit louder than i expected. But as you said, you dont have converters. I have seen a video of that same muffler on a stock gmt800. Was barely louder than stock. But they have only 2 converters so hard to judge of that. I still think im just going to do resonator delete then decide if 3rd cat delete is necessary. Although i still think that will be necessary. I plan on doing a similar exit you went with, but with a tip like the one the Corsa kits have. If all this doesn't net me the results im anticipating. That leaves me to the point i need to just suck it up and spend the $1100 on the Corsa kit.Alright ladies and jelly spohns, here it is...
I noticed today while cruising about 60mph there is a very annoying drone... it makes the road noise from the tires sound like a... wha- wha- wha.... so I think I'm gonna have to add the resonator back in.
I think I will see if they can stick the resonator up in front of the muffler instead of back at the tail pipe... we shall see... I am getting pretty tired of fooling with it at this point.
I think it sounds pretty good from outside the truck but I can't take the drone.
Armrest looks uncomfortable, but stylish.
My old one was cracked so... that takes care of that lol
If that armrest cracked, you'd have a serious problem. You'd probably just laugh it off, though.
