What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

What was the part numbers you used and what year/engine? My driver side front diff mount is shot.

'08 Yukon Denali (so 6.2)

For the passenger side I used a Dorman part # 523-240 (the OEM p/n is 23104735)

For the driver side, there isn't a non-OEM option so I used the OEM one, p/n 23104736.

The driver side mount is a little more difficult to find for some reason, and not sure why Dorman would make one but not the other, who knows. Of the two when removed, my driver side one was definitely more worn out.

Passenger side has two threaded studs that pass through the mount pad on the diff secured by nuts and looks like this:

Driver side isn't as flat like the passenger side, is thicker, accepts bolts that pass through the diff carrier case, and looks like this:

You can buy the four bushings cheaper, but then you have to press them out/in after removing the mounts. A little more expensive, but less work/easier in my opinion to just get the whole brackets.

Not a hard job to do, just a little time consuming (at least for me) getting the driver side bracket out. Less room on that side coupled with a thicker and not exactly flat/straight chunk of metal results in lots of twisting, prying, shifting, raising/lowering of the diff to snake it out. Passenger side is super easy.

91 or 93 octane. less gear seaching then 87

on steep grades. it will stay in top gear longer

if you have a flex fuel use or mix your own custom blend. like e30

I use 93 exclusively. He drives easier than I do and it's still under 70° here so I cut him some slack. No steep grades around here. It is a FlexFuel, but I'd have to go far out of my way to get anything other than E10. After a past convo with @swathdiver, I did locate an E85 station in Baton Rouge that I plan to fill up from on our next road trip.

Yup, I filled up yesterday for the first time. Saved a bit @ $1.99/ gal, but also not impressed. Meh. I’ll stick with my beloved dino..


ETA: Ok, changing my opinion.. now on roughly my 2.5 tank fill on E85.
It sucks driving across town to fill up, but I must say I am quite pleased with a small difference in power, and saving a significant amount/ gallon, as I typically fill up with premium.
(Though here, in Co., we’re one of very few states where that’s 91, and not 93 octane). So far, I’m pretty happy with the way she runs on E85. I just had to give it a chance. [emoji16][emoji106]

I did this too, but alas, my wife was not fond of the Color Temp... I haven't yet, but I'll be shopping a slightly warmer colored LED
Hahaha, I installed some in my 00 Tahoe and now my fiance has forbade me to do the swap in the Escalade. I'll admit that I can barely see after using them for a couple of seconds.

actually be careful e85 makes it acidity if you don't have the correct compatible oil for E85 you can run into issues do keep it in mind..

you have to use synthetic motor oil

Not sure about all that, but I only run full synthetic Mobil 1 anyway.
