I changed the key pad in my stock remote (left), swapped guts from used ebay remote to green ebay fob and programmed it for the wife, also had new key cut for burban and programmed it also for the wife. Damn burb only came with one key when I bought it.

We keep it reasonably clean on a normal basis even with the kids and the mess that just follows them. I'm doing this today more for paint correction purposes.
