Exactly. All this combined with, like you said, “less stringent” as in nearly nonexistent environmental laws make China the perfect place to manufacture anything that makes toxic waste as a byproduct like castings do. Companies that make parts there either contract out the work with very little oversight or QC in order to compete with the super cheap parts ( Dorman or even worse) or else they work closely with the plant and have their own employees there doing QC on a regular basis, which allows them to make quality parts way cheaper than they could in the US. Just because parts are made in China doesn’t mean they’re any less than the highest quality parts made here. It’s cheap labor, plentiful natural resources, lax environmental laws etc that make the parts cheaper.

foxconn has there employees live on sight, barracks are next to the factories, the amount of product they can produce is insane, I was reading where they could basically change there entire factorys to produce a entirely different product in just 5 days

Finally fixed that pesky motor mount... built up the courage at 3pm on a Sunday(rained all day Saturday) Finished at 11pm, I'm pokey, have disorganized tools and have 2 distractions running around. I DID NOT TOUCH THE diff

My Old mount was toast...

Got both front hubs/bearings swapped over the weekend, now it rides too quiet and i can hear the exhaust drone lol

Pertinent story:
My mom was afraid to drive her CR-V because she just KNEW the transmission was going out. I had no reason to doubt her because her husband is a mechanic (diesel tractor-trailer, but still). I got a chance to take it around the block one day to listen for the "whine in the transmission". The trans was perfect and the sound was caused by a flawed expansion valve design in the A/C system. It's a common problem and totally harmless, just a nuisance.

It was difficult to hear the whistling due to her CR-V sounding like it was rolling on 37" Boggers. Through everything else, she never complained or even mentioned this sound. The left rear wheel bearing was nearly seized and it roared like she was driving constantly on a gravel road.

Well its been on its way out since Id say may, i originally just chalked it up to tire noise but it got worse about a week ago. Got to the point where it was howling pretty loud. On a more positive Ive been messing with a new box the past couple weeks. Louder than before and sounds better. Just have a few things left before its time for another project.

I’ve bought synthetic poly grease and never had a squeak. Lube the sway bar hold downs inside and small amount on end links and perfect. Also for poly suspension bushings this is key to no squeak.

I had some silicone based brake grease that I was going to use but did some quick googling during the install and what I saw said not to use it. I’m regretting that now, but it does sound a little like the squeak is coming from the rear end rather than the front. Maybe I’ll get around to replacing those bushings as well.

Plenty of space between the box and hatch, plus the back seats hahaha
