Looks like a good winter tire
They are mud/snow rated. On my 2wd S10 I had a set of these same tires in 225/75/15. Did fricken AWESOME in snow/slush/freezing rain. Windshield had frozen the wipers to the glass and I had a port to see out of the size of a football from the defroster. Traction was not the issue that day.

I definitely didn't think it would take almost 30 minutes to drain...no big deal

So is there a real quality difference in between a basic Mobil 1 filter and let's say the one that lasts 20k? I usually only use Mobil 1, but tried k and n last time because it had the nut on the bottom. Ended up using the filter wrench anyways.

I also tried the Amazon basics full synthetic oil 5w-30 this go around. Reviews were good and seems like a decent oil. Could be mistaken though

The additive packs make the difference between oils. Most all are group III based these days. We are 1200 miles in since our last oil change and the motor hasn't used a drop, even with my wife driving it mostly. Same for last oil change, no oil loss whatsoever. I'm really liking that ACDelco oil and while I missed out on the deal to buy 6 gallon boxes from RockAuto, they still sell 5 Quart bottles for less than I bought locally. Going to stock up next week, so y'all leave me some.

With gas going up, we tried E15 or 88 the other day. Not sure of the alky content yet but it has delivered much lower mileage than usual when running incidentally between 10-15% alcohol. I think we're at 13.5 mpg on this tank instead of 16 mpg. It was fifty cents less per gallon than the least expensive 93 though.

IDK. I use the Wix that’s meant for synthetic oil.

Okay I lied it does rub but only in reverse when the wheels are turned to the left. I dont think it would rub on a different vehicle though because something about the passenger side inner fender is ****** up. Gonna get the grinder out and trim some of the plastic.

Put in a bottle of LiquiMoly Ceratec. Wow. I'm usually not a fan of "snake-oil" additives, but Ceratec did some magic on my 160k-mile 5.3L. It is definitely running much smoother (and quieter) than before. Now if only I could do something to help the gas mileage! LOL

The only additive I've ever seen compelling evidence that shows it actually does something is Motorkote.

Do you use it?
Yes! I'm a big fan of it. Especially now that I have this brand new long block in the tahoe. Tomorrow morning I'm doing the first real oil change. I will be sending in an oil analysis from the sample taken while its draining out. I drained it at 300 miles, this oil in there has about 3700 miles on it, so I will be draining it and putting a new filter on. Then when the oil life indicator says 30% or so I'll change it again. I don't remember off the top of my head what the ratio is but they say for every quart of capacity you at x ounces. It comes out to roughly half the bottle for me. I like to pour the motorkote right into the oil filter as my "prefill" for it- that way it goes right into the bottom end bearings. Bottle says you're supposed to use it every other oil change.

You can also add it to your power steering system and differentials. They say its safe for automatic transmissions and limited slip diffs, automatic transfer cases etc but I'm not going to put in anything that has a clutch inside it- so my automatic tcase and rear diff are a no go for me. I will be adding it to my front diff though next time I change the axle fluids.

Something happened on the way to dinner tonight- I got four differnet DIC messages telling me to check all of my tire pressures- one for each corner- turns out they didn't set the pressure in all of them to 45 psi instead of 40 like I had asked. The max inflation pressure for these tires is 50 psi, instead of 44 like normal tires.

Anywho- had I known that max inflation pressure was 50 psi- I would've gotten HPTuners out and just turned the TPMS alert pressure up to match the tires- but instead I spent the past hour and a half draining the tires to 35 psi and slowly inflating them until the DIC showed them all at 40psi. live and learn. I let the vehicle sit for about 4 hours before fiddling with the tire pressures so they should be proper "cold" pressures. I will check them again tomorrow morning to make sure they didn't cool down some more or anything. I want them to all be perfect because these tires are brand new- and I wanna get the most perfect wear I can out of them.
