That shit on the carpet is from the manufacture process I believe. It’s like super fine grey fibers. It resisted vacuuming to a great degree. Damn vacuum had little to no effect. I don’t know if it’s the carpet or what’s on it. I even tried a lint roller. No help. I finally resorted to some of the sound deadening mat, it worked pretty good by dragging it across the carpet, followed by a bit of vacuuming. I ran out of time for the front or even to finish the rear 100%.

I've used the adhesive side of duct tape or other very sticky tape with some success for stuff like that. Kind of a PITA though for a large area.

So fine... Do you have a build thread? I'm curious of your drop, tire size, any rubbing, etc. Mine's dropped about the same as yours on OEM take-off 22s with 285/45 Brickstones and I'm currently trying to clearance everywhere it's rubbing.

I do not. I tell people it's about 3/6, but it's really about 2.5/6.25 by what the parts advertise. Didn't measure before... McGaughy's 2" spindles and adjustable Belltech struts with a 1/2" spacer removed in front. Depending on where I park, the front can be a little higher than the rear so I'm tempted to pull another spacer out. Norcalss 6" rear springs with upper isolators removed (shorter sway bar links, trailing arm extenders, Belltech SP shocks with extenders, adjustable panhard bar.

Rear fender liners trimmed a bit (no rubbing now). Trimmed the front ones as well but still rubs on occasion. same 285/45/22

Guess that radar detector doesn't work too well, unless he was pacing you?

Or maybe he was using that new "instant on" radar technology.... Lol

It normally works great... first time I've been pulled over since I got it 4-5 yrs ago. I think he came up on me using K-band, which I pretty much always ignore. The most annoying part is that I was somewhat behind a sheriff that was outrunning me doing 95-100 with no lights on.

I got the resonators deleted on my junk yard intake tube. I also cut out the baffle in the fender support where the intake sucks from. Damn if it isnt a hell of a lot louder now! I think it looks way cleaner too.
Performance wise how’d this mod do? Not a whole lot different, but there is a measurable improvement! At WOT above 5,400 rpm ish the MAP sensor read 13.7 before cutting out that baffle and deleting the resonators. After this mod, it now reads 13.9. If you have a stock cam, it probably wouldnt make as much of a difference. Can I feel it? A little bit. But its not a knock your socks off thing.

How much louder is it? A shit ton. At 60-70% throttle between 2,000 and 3,700 ish, I can feel the firewall and gas pedal vibrate. I do not think it would be as extreme without a cam. will see how well the gopro picks it up tomorrow

How and what did you do to it? is the tube from like a stock 6.0 truck? or just cut the bottles off and patch in with plastic weld?

So the final episode in this weekend's saga. here are all of the losses. 3/8 flex head ratchet. 3/8 8mm socket, #8 lifter and the cam. The timing chain tensioner should have been changed anyway but it snapped when I tried to lock it in place.

I cut the bottles off and patched the holes with JB Weld. I then set a 3/8” fitting that I ground down to be flush with the tube in to retain proper PCV function and wound up having to move later. I also cut out the fender baffle.

How does the original fender opening size compare to the size of the tube or throttle body (volume wise)?

Airflow in a system is limited to the smallest point in the system.

We're not talking forced induction here, where air is compressed/forced through the tubes, but sucked through by what the engine needs. My stock 6.2l with 403hp (410 on E85) uses the same sized opening in the fender, and pretty sure the same intake tubing, as the lower HP 5.3l.

All the tubes do is quiet the airflow and take up space...lol
