What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Alright gents here is the information I intended on getting up last night...…… but it ended up being a hour day.

For the caliper brackets to adapt C6 ZO6/GS calipers to your full size GM truck or SUV:

Here is the complete part list for the ZO6 caliper install with part numbers. Note, you can get creative with buying parts, whether used or using discount codes from vendors. Most forums have a discount code for RockAuto for example.

- Now the rotors from Baer have 3 options plain/flat rotors, slotted and slotted/cross drilled. The flat rotors are like $242 ea.

- The calipers come in several colors (red, silver and yellow) each of those color options has a different part number. I went to RockAuto and did a search for 2013 Corvette ZO6 and 2013 Corvette Grand Sport calipers.

- Remember, beyond the increased braking you'll be dropping a fair amount of unsprung weight from the front of the truck. When I adapted Wilwood calipers to my 04 Colorado I went from 21 lbs on each corner to 9.8 lbs.

You'll still need pad, pins, banjo bolts and crush washers...….all cheap stuff.

I read the ZR1 calipers have Ti pistons in them, if that can be confirmed.... sweet; they should be super light.

That would be $1600 to $1700 and your calipers would still say Corvette on them. I don’t see the reasoning to not go with Wilwood for a couple more hundred. Honestly, if I’m going to all the work and expense to do a BBK kit I don’t want to end up with misbranded parts on my truck. To me, that just says I didn’t want to spend the money on the right parts. Now if you’re comparing to Brembo this is a better deal but they still say Corvette. I can’t get past that myself. I was hoping it would be less and maybe have options with no lettering on the calipers. Why couldn’t GM just have the option of a bow tie instead? Thank you for the info.

For the Corvette script on the calipers. I was going to either have them powdercoated a custom color or scuff the script off then buff them

You realize to powder coat them you have to completely disassemble them and remove all the seals?

Silverado SS forum? I have considered this for my Silvy but don’t those calipers have Corvette on them? That was one of my issues plus the fact that by the time you factor in the brackets and pads you have $1500-1600 into these and you can get the Wilwood kit which has way bigger 6- piston calipers for about $1800-2000.

Simple problems resolved with simple solutions!

You realize to powder coat them you have to completely disassemble them and remove all the seals?

Day 2 of DOD delete

Day 1: 8 hours. Removed exhaust, intake manifold, radiator, camshaft. Everything stripped down.
Day 2: 4 hours. Removed oil pickup tube bolt....

********! Forgot how annoying that was. On the G8 I dropped the pan and on my C5 the bolt was easy to get to. I remember dropping the pan down a bit on my GTO and that is what I ended up having to do, but it was a ***** with my large hands.

Hindsight being 20/20, I should have just removed the oil pan completely, would have been faster.

Looking forward to flippin 'er over and casually backing out that pickup tube bolt.
