Usually that happens when the sensor is dirty, clean off any dirt or mud off the sensor and between the sensor and body and off the body on the outside, the sensors are on the left & right side right behind and above the rear wheel well's. they are shaped sort of like a claymore.
Well thats going to have to wait until spring/summer....Not crawing underneath to check that with all this white crap and slush on the ground.
BTW = I think that it could be a bad sensor/connection because this started when all the running boards were removed.
