I've had my Denali for about six weeks and found out about four weeks ago that the rear windshield washer hose was chewed and cracked where it curls around the wiper arm pivot. GM, in its quest for profits, does not stock the hose but will sell me an entire rear wiper arm with hose for $45.00+/-. Dorman has one for $35.00+/-. To replace $1.00 worth of hose!

So I went out and cut the hose at a non-chewed spot and measured the ID and OD of the OEM hose (3mm and 5mm respectively) and started searching. I found plenty of 50 ft reels at $10 less than the cost of a new wiper arm, but couldn't find anyone selling a short piece. I thought I had found a place that would sell me a piece for about $8 but when I went to check out they wanted $45.00 for shipping! And they were not in Antarctica! I looked at O'Reilly's website sort of as a last resort (I have about $20 left on a gift card from them) and they had it for $0.49 per foot! Score!

So today I'll pull the old hose, replace it, and be able to see out the back window when it gets dirty.

Filled it up with E85 at $2.19/gal.

Been about 2 weeks since last fillup, which was E85 at the same price.

Beats the cheapest 93 octane price around of $3.19/gal

Wish E85 was more consistently available in my area. i'd have to make a special trip to get it (and sometimes i do).

Not quite as technical as I thought it might be but interesting nonetheless.

I was actually looking for more details when i found that.
not super in depth, but he does mention that he uses the tech2 type stuff to download a factory 6.2 tune.

good overall high level explain, and it led me down a new path of getting this thing running nicely with hopefully as little effort as possible.

We have a few E85 around, but not many.

They tend to keep the price right about where Costco sets their 87 prices, $3/gal today and about $.30/gal less than 91-92 (so called Premium here).

never seen e85 around here, but i'm sure someone has it.
I do have race fuel down the street from me (110 octane iirc).
They also have pure gas, i use that in my boat, yard equipment, and RC car.

Yup. Even of the stations that have it, most is poor quality: according to @BBP. We have it at all these new-built “*** & Go” station, but I was informed the quality is not good. So I drive about 25 miles round trip to fill up at an “Alta”, who sell Conoco.(but the E85 is not a Conoco product), so I’m unsure where they buy their E85, but it’s better than the *** & Go stuff.
