I tell my wife too much info just like this.
Well, she helped me do the test. She was just upset that she couldn't release the brake while I was in front of the vehicle looking at the motor. For some reason if I'm in the driveway when she's pulling in she tries to run me over.

Oh, and the GM OE mounts are only $87 each at RA, about the same price as the H3 mount

Here's a video I took of the engine revving, and it makes the "thud" noise that I can hear inside the vehicle when it reaches the top

I did too

So did my daughter and I and then my wife swiped the truck and took it to Orlando!

As for motor mounts, I'm of mind to replace them all, the front two at the very least. After twelve years, wouldn't the "good" passenger side mount at least be a little saggy compared to the new one going in on the other side? Anyone with experience on this here?

Well my retrofit lasted a half day and I decided to rebuild them again. I got some dust in one after the lens was already baked on so I was planning to open it up and clean it. But I’m kinda regretting not having the new projectors etched like the first ones so I ordered another set, with etching, and 4 matching 6000 bulbs. Another $180 of my stimmy money down the drain. I’ll get these things right one day. :head3:

Why would you put the same crappy design back in, it will just fail again.

Is it not true there’s an increase in NVH with the H3 mounts? I think I read that. That would factor into my decision because I value a quiet ride, and any vibration forces me to go on the hunt to eradicate it.

I’ve been wanting to get back into it with that style

I’ve got some old ones in the garage that don’t work. The price to get them going again I can get new ones. I have an old nitro monster truck that I haven’t fired up since high school. Nitro was cool but pain in the ass. And expensive.

Yeah battery technology is soo good now.

My Lipo 3S packs will run up to 45 minutes

They’re the same mounts that an H3 has. It’s the exact same design on all the trucks and SUV’s through the years up until 2007 and they use the same engine design for the most part. So if the OBS or NBS trucks didn’t have vibrations why would the NNBS? I have heard some say they can’t tell, some say they can but I think it might be their imagination idk. If it comes down to it and I need mounts I know what I’m going with- a tried and true design that’s been around for generations. Maybe they put them in because of DOD but I’d disable that if I had it anyway so the engine lasts.
