Been trying to find a card thats just a simple cash rewards.

Capital One Quicksilver. 1.5% on everything, and the cash reward is equal to the points. Some cards give you only 50% cash for your points.

Points can be used on Amazon for payment.

A few years back I got wise to the benefits of rewards cards. Since then I’m getting between 2-5% cash back on every dollar spent. Utilities, taxes, insurance, gas, anyone that accepts plastic. I’ve been walking around for months with the same cash in my wallet. I never use it.

Cards can be a heavy burden for those without financial discipline or in a tight financial spot. But they’re a nice perk as long as you never carry a balance.
My wife and have been doing this since 2012. Not always just cash but hotel and flight points as well, depending on the rewards offerings at the time (right now Southwest Airlines card is doing 5x points on gas and hotel purchases so that racks up a free flight pretty quick vs 1 point per dollar). Key is always paying the balance off at the end of the month. Some people do well, others don't. Discipline, like you said, is the key. I hate paying interest and I like getting something for money I was going to spend anyway

Credit cards evolve constantly. I used sites like the above to shop them. I mainly use 3. Citi give 2% on everything; Chase give 5% but the categories revolve quarterly; BOA 4.75 on categories I can change monthly.

Operation: Getting the ole girls swagger back, is underway.

started a couple of months ago refreshing all interior panels and clip retainers. Now I’m finishing up the weatherstripping and door seals.

I replaced all door seals a few months ago because I got tired of looking at the ripped up bottoms where people step in and out of the vehicle now I’m replacing all four door lower seals. Mine have been gashed and torn from 10 years of service.

I also got my parts in to replace the front oem air struts and hardware. I have pair of ac delco 580-373 air struts for my z55 front suspension to get installed. I decided recently to go ahead and replace the entire front coil over strut setup with parts and new coil springs that I’m on the hunt for.

im going to have a 2/3 drop done at the same time of the install. Just working out the details on front spring part numbers. I did the rear shocks last summer when I did the Eibach swaybars.

plan is to do a cam and headers TSP package as well. Just ironing out the details and total costs vs supercharger.

this should be a fun 6 months coming up for me.

The lower door seals, to me at a PITA. Would prefer to have em off if they weren’t a part of keeping water from getting inside the truck. They catch all the dirt up under them, leading me to think thats where the rust will start. I pull mine off every now and then to wash the doors properly. The ones on the back doors practically seal up the weep holes on the doors as well. I’ve had my rear doors partially fill up with water, not only from the seals but as we all also know crap inside the doors.

My Hilton Honors Aspire AMEX is great.
14X points at and on Hilton properties; including paying for the room, 7X on anything food related, and 5X on everything else.

There are countless other perks, free rental car coverage, travel insurance, baggage insurance, free Priority Plus membership and Diamond status with Hilton; I was already diamond thought.

man this is good to know. I was talking about trying to figure out away to do this and you just made my day.

I use my AMEX as basically my debit card and pay my bills with it.

Hopefully this will help them and they will be better off than I was

Glad I was able to share. Knowledge is power

See this credit game stuff needs to be taught in school. So all we can do now is set them up and educate them.

The next card I'm going to ad to my collection will be the AMEX Platinum (the metal card).

The only card they have above that is their black card and you don't get the offer/invitation unless you spend 1M a year on their other cards

That's good advice. Definitely need to screen all 3 of your reports annually. TU had the wrong DOB for me, Equifax had my name wrong and Experian and a bunch of wrong info.

For AMEX they look for at least a 715 credit score and account utilization under 30% with your other cards/accounts.

As far as credit and FICO scores go, the magic number is 781. 781 is where exceptional credit comes into play. In regards to rates and offers....781 holds the same weight and offers as 850.
