Got a little carried away with building for the future using that flex fuel bypass block and bought -8 fittings and lines instead of -6an.
Ptfe seems fairly easy to assemble at least, hopefully get the length figured out this weekend and trim/finish the line and get the sensor installed.
Then worry about wiring it up.

My wife used to show horses. Mainly when she was in high school and lived in Florida. She still had two of them when we met, but had stopped showing by then. She has boxes and boxes of ribbons, trophies, glass things, etc. All of these were stored at her parents house until they downsized last year. Needless to say, we now have a bunch of totes in the garage....I know she has big glass things for winning something. I think 4 or 5 of those. She has them stored separately.

Here is just the first box we opened. She was going to throw them all away...yea, no. Don't ask me what kind they were. Walking horses is all I know and after going to the one and only horse show that Ive attended, thats not very descriptive.

Today's the day I look into the recently developed clunk in the front. Probably time for the bushings and whatnot up there to be replaced. Think I'll throw in some Belltech adjustable coilovers to replace the kyb gas adjusts up there. No one has time to do the drop right with spindles here...My luck with projects means changing to a spindle drop would become a week-long project. No bueno.

My wife sold her cadillac because we don't need to be a 3 car family, but the other car is our 17yro daughters beater. Which just so happens to have busted a rear shock mount. "My car is making a rattle or clunking noise...sounds like it's in the car" yeah, you'll have that when the shock isn't attached lol.

I found a decent price on the coilovers but I am holding out for maybe a black Friday sale. I assume I'll need their camber and alignment shims too. But for now we are a 1 car family.

All these maintenance needs are really crushing my "turbo the yxz" funds. Jerks.

Changed the oil. It has been around 3k miles since the refresh. I did an initial oil change after firing It up and driving it for 10-15 miles. The oil looked good.

Whats the part number for the tall filter you guys are using? 08 5.3 and how much capacity does it add? I run ac deco pf48 on it now. Mobil 1 5/30. Will change over to 10/30 on the next change.

ACDelco PF63, Mobil M1-212, K&N HP2011, Wix 57045

They're all about 4.5"-5" tall versus 3.5" for the standard height filters

I use wix 57045 it has a bypass setting of around 15 psi. Check fitment, it works on the 6.2 and should work on 5.3

Thanks guys! Do you still run 6 quarts or add?
I put in 6, but check it on the dipstick either later that day or the next day and add if necessary. I've never had to add any more. That extra 1/10th of a quart of oil capacity the 1" longer filter adds doesn't really make a difference in the pan.

I actually fill the new filter with oil before installing it, just to lessen the time the engine is running with no oil pressure on first startup
