She will have her license but the car will sit if there is no funding for gas.
Seems to be an increasingly common stalemate as kids realize that they can do nothing and force us to shuttle them around. Until they can't. I think your approach is a good one. Looking forward to see how it goes.

I couldn't wait to get a job for the financial freedom that it afforded, followed by a car. I got a workers permit at 15 and took a dishwashing job at a Mexican restaurant.

Our post-modern culture is telling our youngsters that cars are pollutants and too costly and a host of other things to scare them away from wanting to drive.

Not for me, that driver's license meant, FREEEDOMMMMMM!!!! ...and girls! Back then, no car, no girls! LOL

One of the things that makes me wonder wtf.
You need a car if you want to go on a date.
You need to go on a date and hang out with a girl if you ever want to lose your V.

Like this stuff was so important to myself and my friends growing up.

I was working odd cash opportunities starting in 4th grade and always had cash. Bought my first car at 14 years old and paid for the insureance so my older buddy that had a license could drive me around in my car!

Yeah, plus them able to be on mom and dad's insurance till 26 and all that other crap makes them not want to leave home and be responsible for themselves.

I was out on my own at 18, working full time, taking vocational classes 3 nights a week, paying for an apartment and a car.

Well, when the market crashes again because kids aren't moving out of their houses like what happened last time.
I'm buying a second house to use as either a rental or down south so I can spend the winter in warmer weather.
(Hopefully I'll be in a position to do that)
Soon my friend, very soon.

Put about 1200 miles on it after moving the tru cool back down to the bottom grill the trans never got over 205 even pushing it hard up upgrades, coolant hit 230 a couple times but not nearly as much or for very long compared to having it in front of the radiator and that was fully loaded with 5 people, bikes and luggage and tools etc and doing 90+ up steep upgrades and ambient temps in the 80-90's

Just watched a little video about the takata airbag recall.

I thought it was they might not inflate.
Apparently they are powered with basically tannerite... lol

Shrapnel etc.

Yeah that's going up on the urgency list to have done.
