Been looking for a decent dual cam one for a while. I had some citi reward points on my cc that paid for it, so why not.

Is your Tahoe 2WD? If so it will probably just require a swap to a 14 bolt axle after the Duramax and Allison are put in, if it's 4x4 it will probably need the 2500's t-case and front diff to handle the extra torque.

I like Duraburb, I enjoy watching their YouTube videos, seems like a great shop. My dream truck is a 2500 Suburban with a LML. If I win the lottery, Duraburb will be getting my business.
Yep it is a 2wd, but they can still do the swap using the Tahoe 1/2 ton chassis and axles. One would have to be mindful of the awesome power and torque that is beneath them. There has been discussions about this and that is the reason why I would rather do a 2500 Suburban swap. Frame and axles can deal with the changes just fine.

Changed the oil in my truck for the first time since buying it.

The oil was PITCH BLACK and so heavy/dirty it almost overflowed the oil drain pan I was using because it was so thick it didn't want to drain down the center hole. And the oil filter? It was practically SEALED on. It was so difficult to get off, it took me an hour. Replaced with Mobil 1 Extended Life oil filter and full synthetic Mobil 1 oil.

Doing the oil change got rid of what I think was a slight case of lifter tick; the truck is now smooth and linear when idling, and feels like it has an insane amount of power now; all I have to do is touch the throttle and it takes off.

What do you guys think? How does your oil look come time to change it? Because of how dirty that oil was, I will be changing it again in about 3k miles. I'm actually surprised that the OLM (oil life monitor) still said the old oil had 30% life with how bad it was. The best description? It truly looked like and moved like molasses.

I change my oil at 4-5k miles with synthetic. Not a habit I plan on breaking regardless if it can go twice as long without being changed.
