I don't understand the purpose/desire to remove the roof rack. I never even notice mine to begin with and so it seems to me that removing them wouldn't be worth my effort---let alone reducing my truck's utility. But to each, his own.
My thing is thus far, I've used it once in three years and if I go up from my current suspension and tire size, I'll probably contact my garage opening. If it looked no worse with it off then I'd not be as concerned with the next step.

Not much I'm getting too old for this shit, took me an hour and a half to bucket wash the Hoe, at least the roof rack wasn't in the way. Next time I think I'll take her to the Auto Scratch and wash. maybe!

I bucket wash then use touchless for a while to keep it looking nice. That way I'm not washing like that constantly. I hate handwashing these beasts all the time. It rains every 3-4 days lately and even if it doesn't, it's once a week. Not worth my time to handwash once a week. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuk that....
