Anybody ever done silverado/Sierra steps or Colorado/canyon steps on a tahoe/yukon?

Installed a locking gas cap, and a dash cover to hide the cracks before they start.

Can't understand why a $50k vehicle doesn't have a locking gas cover

I was finally able to get some time on hand and get the steering wheel clock spring installed and the day after that got the pass side hub assembly installed. The hub took me longer than expected, doing it in the font yard with no air tools was not the best scenario but I didn't have time to wait 2 more days till the shop opened up for me. Thanks to my neighbor who has a lil more weight than me was able to help my break the hub nut off after an hour and half cranking on it with my cordless 1/2' drive impact and not getting anywhere. He finally thought that he should break out his "cheater" bar that was a handle off his jack that's about 3 ft long. Finally broke it off and put everything back together. Plus it was raining on and off that day I was working under a make shift canopy I tapped up to the Tahoe. Something that should take me 2 hours tops took almost 5 after running around and thinking about ways to break that nut off while not having all the right tools.



Got out today on one of the first good days we have had in a while and shot some pics.

@HiHoeSilver, negative it was just realllyyy tight. Not sure if the old nuts were locking nuts but the ones that came new with the new CVS were locking nuts. I cranked on them pretty good when I stalled them a few months ago. Plus that hub being as bad as it was might have made it a little tighter due to all the vibration I was getting at the floor board. I bought a new cordless impact that was about 350 ft lbs and it didn't budge, or it did some and that's what helped my neighbor break it off finally. Either way it was a ***** and shouldn't have. My other neighbor did basically the same thing and had trouble with his hub nut and was able to get it off with a cheaper impact than I had. His truck was diesel as well.

I did mine like this... It did suck.

I just stuck a screwdriver through the caliper into the vanes of the rotor.

That's crazy. Get impact and be done. a LOT less work and MacGyvering lol

It was more figuring out how to rig it up safely than actual difficulty getting it to break. However, my last HF trip did yield an impact, lol.
