Gu6 here too haha. Is that gearing good ?

Depends on how you define good. It's pretty nice if you're cruising on the highway. Around town, it's a bit of a dog, but not horrible. I liked my 3.73 better overall. Wheel /tire size play a large role here, too. The bigger you go on the 3.42, the more you'll notice it being sluggish.

With the 6 speed transmission It is "supposed" to be the same as 4.10. The only way to get better gearing is the 2500 6.0 or put it in yourself. I have heard of people having 3.73 with the 6 speed but I have not seen it.

I reset mine every fill up as well. Not sure how else to get an accurate mpg count besides the dic.

You could do it the old school way: Reset the trip odometer when you fill up then divide the number of miles it reads by the number of gallons it takes to fill up again. I used to do this religiously with my S10. I'd fill up at the same pump and let it go until the pump clicked off instead of clicking it off a few times because that would skew the numbers with more variables. I calculated it myself a few times when I first got my Tahoe but quit when I found the DIC info to be close enough to my calculations.

I still do this with my 02 suburban and my wife's 2010 Yukon XL Denali. I have averaged 13.5 over 50k with some towing our 6500# camper and 2 winters in upstate New York with horrible winter gas with the denali.

I would LOVE to have a 6-speed. After having 6-speed transmissions in my work vans, I HATE having only 4. It's either lugging or tach'ed out. Mine has the 3.73, I don't even wanna try to imagine it with a 3.42.

In my 02 suburban I have 3.73 with the 4 speed and I just towed the camper 600 miles and that's exactly how it was the whole trip.

Oil change while on the clock. Got to love it.

Drained my catch can and I got this out of it. I noticed that the seal on the bottom cap and drain was leaking a tad so probably lost a drop or two.

When the tahoe i have now was traded in, i looked it all over in and out. Bought it and then took 3 days to clean and buff, stripped the badges, side moulding. Painted the bowties and grill, took off side steps...lol
