Removed my hitch cover to compare it to the one I have from my 2011 swb before putting it up for sale and noticed my receiver is rated at 1000 lb tongue weight and 10,000 lb total weight.

I know the vehicle tow rating isn't that much, but is this the standard rated receiver that comes one these? My 2001 receiver is only rated 600 lb tongue and 5000 lb total.a7e27e4d763313e3e6cb8bcc953d3fb7.jpg

For whatever reason the sticker does not mention the maximum tongue weight without a weight distribution hitch which is 600/5000.

Here's the sticker on my 2009:

Yeah, I'm used to seeing stickers like yours on there. My sticker seems odd.

Here's the on on my '01, although a bit hard to read, it's 600/5000 weight carrying and 1500/12000 with a weight distributing hitch.76458aa370202cfbc9e149ca9acf1f88.jpg

Well Tom, we know your Denali can tow 7800 or 7900 pounds maximum according to the manuals for your year. This might have been during the time the Japanese auto makers were publishing outlandish capacities for their vehicles.

I'm now curious as to why the 2009 and 2010 Yukon XL Denalis with AWD can pull 100 pounds more? And now see that the 2007 Yukon XL Denali AWD was rated for 7700 pounds.

Maybe they were using different u-joints?

Went to go start the Yukon so I can pick up some wheels for my DD after this dr appointment and guess what, the battery is dead. It's been sitting since Thanksgiving, so I must have left something on. Its charging now.

I guess I will be picking the wheels up in the car instead, sigh. I really didnt want to put them on the seats and the tires are stretched and didnt want the barrels hitting everything.

I called a tow company and priced out a tow for the burb to my mechanic!

Horrrrrrible sounds at start up. Uneducated hypotheses are feeling like an oil pump...but I'm not driving it until I know.

Circling back to my adventure trying to over engineer a clean/easy way to do an oil change. LOL...

Anyone here ever used a fluid/oil extractor on their Tahoe/Yukon/GM fullsize truck for an oil change?

I'm considering at least picking one up to make doing a fluid/filter swap on the transmission less messy since there is no drainplug on the pan.

You have a built in extractor for the trans service. It's the cooler line and the trans pump! I didn't spill a drop.
