Mine are connected opposite fender wire to the left post and wire closer to the engine is connected to the right post, that is the only way they would fit. Actually the picture you posted made me ask that question.

So you took your blind off, too, then?The BIG difference is at night driving it, holy shit. The beams have an actual pattern and I can see where the **** I am going now.
The left post goes to #66 on the fuse block which is a 30 amp fuse and is for a trailer brake controller. The wire for it is along the fender between it and the fuse box.
The right post goes to #71 on the fuse block which is a 40 amp j-case fuse which you have to install. This is for providing power through trailer connector to whatever is being towed. The wire for this is under the brake booster. Whatever is drawing from this circuit will continue to run off the battery when the engine is not running.
