Posse In Effect
Yeah if I can get an aftermarket head unit to send signal to stop amp, that would be perfect. Especially if I can get rid of ANC before that. I didn’t even know the vehicle had it. No wonder my grandpa was always like ‘wow this thing is so quiet’ every time we’d go somewhere.I know it's something super easy like unplugging a mic or something. Wes will fill you in but my main reason for replying is to say you can retain the Bose system with an aftermarket HU. The HU, stock or aftermarket, sends a signal to the Bose amp and the Bose amp does the rest. It's a little more complicated than that with the warning tones, etc., but that's the gist. This is why our rigs need specific interfaces/adapters depending on the features we have. As far as running the Bose speakers directly off an aftermarket HU, not likely. They have odd impedences (2.x, I think) and most HUs require 4 ohm. If you were so inclined, you could run the Bose speakers off an aftermarket amp if it's stable at the ohm load.
I, for one, think the Bose system sounds pretty good for a factory setup. I have a Pioneer HU and the extra sound adjustment from the 13-band EQ let me tweak it more to my liking. I still plan to swap out the speakers and run them on Alpine amps, but I'm no hurry because I'm content enough for now.
