15-20 GM full size SUV. The diameter of the outer wheel rim is larger and feels better in my hands than the 07-14 style.

I removed my factory one for a deep cleaning. It’s leather was very shiny and sticky. 8 yrs worth of eww.

I had the 15-20 wheel laying around and thought I’d try it.

Depending on what’s easier, I may swap out the coil spring on my 2012 with one from a 15-17 and make an adapter harness so the connectors on the steering column match up.

Again, eww. Notice the shiny vs. matte area.

My oem one is shiny like that and so slick. Can’t palm the wheel turning. It slides.
Use Scrubbing Bubbles bathroom cleaner in the green can and that stuff will come right off and leave the wheel squeaky clean.

Drove and got gas then picked up some dinner. Before I left I felt the bladder and it was still firm with air.

The ride feels more firm and solid in the rear. Lately it's felt a little sloppier/more bouncy.

literally sounds like it’s under the valve cover.

I plan on deleting it. My uncle knows an old racing buddy that owns a shop. Used to work for gm so he should know this issue. I’m waiting on a call from him. Only issue is the shop is 139 miles away. But I know no one near me to trust to give me a reasonable deal.

You can do some quick preliminary checks: As James @swathdiver mentioned, pull the plugs on the LH side (keep 'em in order) and compare. If you have or have access to a borescope, this would be an excellent time to use it to look inside the cylinders. Remove the ignition coils and pop off the valve cover. Your problem could very well just be a broken spring. If everything checks out visually, remove the plugs from the RH side and run a compression test on the LH side. While you have that LH valve cover off, you can see if it has been updated. If not, add that to the repair parts list.
