That’s not a bad price, got any links?

This is just a quickie. There are quite a few guys that specialize in fleet remans.

A friend of mine owned a cab company (pre Uber days) and bought quite a few engines from Fraser, Jasper, etc.

A few offer AFM delete version of 5.3’s. I think it was the Fraser regional manager I spoke to who said they recommend the AFM delete option to their fleet clients.

Alright gents...........talked with my tuner yesterday and were on for next Thursday. Need to address the WOT tables, make some more adjustments for the converter and tune on E85.......perfect time with gas prices going up

The quest to build a fun daily has been an interesting project with set backs, but that's par for the course when building. So here is a round up of my last 3 dyno attempts.

October '20 - ran out of injector, @5900rpm, 360whp. Safe tune in place; Upgraded to 50# FF injectors

December '20 - tune for injectors and 3200 Stall converter. Tuners wideband was down/broke, so street tuned - safe mode

March '21 - 5 runs, everytime we got to 5000rpm it fell on its face. Was also down almost 45whp. Discussed, bought new valve spring spring. Installed and found several broken valve springs

My original tune back in May '20 was 312whp with just Headers and LS7 TB, so I'm hoping to see 400 wheel.

That 3rd option for $2900 is a damn good deal.

I wouldn't take a Jasper engine if given to me........seen more failures of their stuff then I care to think about. Yeah 30 years ago when it was simple small blocks and transmissions they were great. I have seen customers go through 3 of their remans in 24 months. A warranty on shit, is still shit.

I agree. I shopped transmissions recently and I read through the warranty documents from all the major vendors I could find. The Jasper warranty itself is crap. Inadequate labor rates, too many conditions, and basically it’s entirely up to them to decide AFTER they receive a failed engine or trans back to the factory whether to reimburse you. Meanwhile, you’ve paid for engine number 3 out of pocket.
