Ordering OEM front suspension parts = entirely too complicated!

I’ve never had issues with parts in the past, but for some reason the front suspension must be a well kept “GM secret” so the stealership can attempt to score a sale while overcharging their customers for the same “proprietary” parts sold online.

I ended up calling:
Findlay Auto 1-844-734-8539 (findlayautoparts.com)

The rep I spoke with was friendly - or at least pretended not to hate his job - and was pretty knowledgeable considering the given task.
Findlay were the same guys Ive received random hardware from (eBay/Amazon orders) in the past.

Whether I end up ordering all of the parts from them, or somewhere else I wanted to share their info in case anyone else has any trouble finding the right part number for their specific application. They will either share GM’s secrets, or in my case they built a quote and emailed to me along with a link if I wanted to place the order online.
*This could be helpful to any of our “technically challenged” or “socially handicapped” forum members. Those who either don’t compute the interweb or those like myself who’s wife doesn’t allow them in public without adult supervision, primarily because the hammers I own don’t fix the kind of stupid falling out the mouth of “nick the new guy” down at the local parts store.

After this weekend my give a ₽hu¢k meter was nearly pegged, so thanks to whoever delivered that rainbow to me this morning. Cheers!

You can’t just use your VIN and one of the online dealers or use our resident GM parts expert, @915_Tahoe ? He uses your VIN to look up parts.

A few days ago I put a signal flair out to all who could see it. @Doubeleive replied suggesting to try calling some dealers/GM parts, but unfortunately that was disappointing to say the least.
Six different calls I placed (local and out of state) all gave me the same “we don’t give out part numbers” story. Most of them priced the struts and lower CA $100+ more than buying them online would be.
As for the VIN and online search, it pulled up several different part numbers with only a few being vehicle specific, which after some cross referencing didn’t pan out is what prompted my post a few days ago.

@915_Tahoe you’ve been flagged for future dead end head scratchers. Thank the RMan for name dropping.

For the last few days I get the ABS and traction faults every now and then on startup. Goes away at the next start or later in the day. I’ve scanned it twice and it’s the LR wheel speed sensor circuit C0045_00. Cleaning the connector at the wiring harness had no effect.

Any realistic chance it’s anything other than the sensor? I’ve got an OEM sensor in my shopping cart ready to pull the trigger.
Just to follow up on this I did finally get a chance to change the wheel sensor and that’s all it was. No rust problems on this lifelong Texas truck. Over a couple of weeks it went from occasionally to “almost every time” presenting the problem.

One thing I took as an indicator of a bad sensor was it would fire up the MIL immediately on starting, before any wheels ever turned. Which to me indicated a failed circuit self test at power on.

Filed away in the memory bank for when the old gal starts kicking the code. Thanks for the follow up.

Ordered and was charged on 6/6.
Just got this email from summit that they are expecting another month to ship...
I don't know what the hell is going on with Mickey Thompson and these particular tires and size, but apparently they're really hard to come by right now.
So instead of getting a decent deal through summit, where I know at least they would be brand new, I need them sooner rather than later at this point.

So of all places, ended up on Amazon and found four of them in Canada that will be here by the 7th at the latest supposedly.
Once those actually get to my door I'm just going to cancel the summit order and get my refund.
If I were to order the same thing through summit again, the projected date is the end of December now.
I need these things on for desert season and just rainy season also, feels like I've been plenty patient.

Also wouldn't be surprised if my tires were stuck on one of those damn container ships that are all out of the Port of Long Beach waiting to get offloaded.
Hope I don't end up with two sets.

There’s a national tire shortage thanks to the pandemic. I tried to get 4 tires for my sons car stock size 15”. bfg’s I called probably 20 tire shops. None had the size we needed. Wound up with 2 Hankook’s and 2 coopers.

Thats what I'm here for, to help out the community.

Dealers say they can't give out gm #'s but it's more like won't, it'll be a lost sale for them. It’s like if your just giving out the answers during a test.

Just talked one of my co-workers, his ex-wife slashed 2 of his tires. They were brand new. Took him 2 weeks to get exact replacements to match the other ones. These are stock tires size on a late model Cherokee.
I think I would consider myself lucky if I divorced my wife and all she did was slash my tires. I would be more worried about the Molotov Cocktail... :0

I had some POS at work that got fired slash all 4 of my tires because I was the last manager on duty even though I had nothing to do with it. Karma is a ***** though. He is pushing mushrooms out of the ground last I heard.
