What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

My guy seemed to be very good about making sure the fluid flow was OK. Plus three years parts and labor warranty will focus the mind and near exclusive towing should grenade the tranny in less than that amount of time if fluid flow is substandard.

It does have the tow package, after all.

Unfortunately, I have no transfer case shifter because the Denali driving soccer Moms would never want to chip their nail polish while shifting. Thus the computer does the shifting unless you trick it with the brakes or parking brake.

GMT900 AWD Denalis are always in 4WD.

Thanks for sharing, I was searching on several other VIN-decoder websites, and they all seemed to have incorrect info. EX: the others said I had the 3.08 rear end. It's ironic because basically any website that ends in xxxxz.com reminds me of the shady places I allegedly checked out back when dial-up modems were the norm.

use all caps when entering the vin, this one is accurate, I have used while vehicle hunting online because dealers either post incorrect info, don't know what they have, or flat out lie.

Yeah I used that one a lot when I was truck hunting last January. Although it was proven somewhere in this thread that the data isn't perfect.

The guy that rebuilt my trans told me if ever I am in a situation such as you described, to do the reverse in 4WD. That, supposedly, will take the brunt of force and put it on the transfer case, instead of the trans. It made sense at the time, but then I started pricing out transfer cases for some reason, and those suckers cost more than a damn junkyard trans....so is that any better?! Who knows.

are you sure you looked up the right thing, the transfer case is the cheapest part to replace, those can be had used for as little as $250, although a fairly typical used price is $500-600
rebuilts are around $1500, that's less then 1/2 the cost of a trans rebuild

the only thing I ever noticed that wasn't clear was the interior trim color, I entered a literal crap ton of vin's into that thing. so much that it put me in robot mode for a extended period of time

Not trying to be a smarta$$, but did your tranny guy explain how putting the vehicle in 4WD reduce the load on the transmission? The transmission is still transferring the same torque to the input shaft of the transfer case whether the transfer case is driving just the rear or the front and rear axles.
