Got my new transmission pump cover yesterday.
Located my old transgo shiftkit that I installed when i first got the hoe.
That kit has some pump upgrades!
Fully dissembled the pump valving and cleaned first.
Didn't notice that the pump stator seals on the updated version that i have, well it has Orings behind the seals to prevent leakage and shift issues!
(side note: this pump version also addresses a 2-3 shift flare that units built before December 2008 may have, my transmission should be one of those)
Used carb cleaner spray to really break up the packing gunk, then rinsed with brake cleaner.
then i saw those Orings were already starting to swell from the carb cleaner.
Luckly the pump kit came with an extra set.
Installed my new transgo boost valve kit.
It also happens to address an issue where there can be "run-away pressure" due to worn parts.
That prevents the classic cracked clutch drum that will leave you with a no drive, no reverse, and if minor, delayed reverse and shift flare/delay condition.
That issue drum is right behind the pump
So, i might yank it to give it a good go over while everything is apart...
But if this thing is on its side, then i might have issues getting the spines to align with the clutches for reinstall.
for sure I'm going through it if i end up just pulling the transmission...
Now I'm just waiting on the bell/pump housing so i can get some measurements and get a pump rotor kit and slide ordered.
I'll get some pictures and toss them up on my build thread once i have the pump housing in hand.
