All this wiper arm talk reminds me. I tried to take off my driver's side arm. I took the nut off but the arm is frozen to the stud. I need to find a small puller to grab it off or something.
Did you stand the arm in the up position so you can use it as leverage? ( close the hood first) I’ve never had luck with the arm in the down position.

I was gonna suggest this. Stand it out straight and rock it up and down while pulling and pushing like you're trying to stab it through the windshield. Be sure to mark the wiper to the splined stud before you remove it so you can put it back in the same position. Or, if you're replacing it, mark the glass with a Sharpie on some painter's tape under the wiper blade.

Believe me I tried that method. I was afraid of breaking the linkage. That sucker is on there TIGHT.
