sorry about that. hitch basket does 500 lbs. the 2 in square tubing from pivot point extends all the way to end of basket so i should see no sag. also have air bags on the rear axle and the 8" extension was put on because i was concerned that now and in the future with a new bumper that it may not fully sit in the upright position with out hitting a bumper. it is designed to tilt up a bit. have not even tried a door opening test yet.

Ahh, gotcha. I see in one of you're pics with the basket up its pretty close to the bumper.

You're going to need those bags for sure if you plan on using all of that 500lbs. Should have known you had a trick up your sleeve to handle the weight. :waytogo:

What was the reasoning behind the folding basket? You plan on using the basket a lot?

I want to make a custom one. My HFT one is kinda flimsy. Thick mount of 2x2 .25 wall tubing sleeved with some 1.5x1.5 .125 wall tube and a 76"x24" basket made of angle iron (versus the 49"x22" I have now). Designed to hold around 800lbs, but as close to the bumper as possible. Plus something in the back to help hold all the weight (like airbags) and a set of brake lights.

Little bit off, but how do you like those airbags sun?
me loving the bags. firestone riderite kit $270 amazon. each has its own valve and plan on adding dual auto level kit and compressor eventually.
