Well all off my spark plug wire parts arrived yesterday.........I made up a new wire for Cyl #1 and installed it. Damn Taylor VMAX manifold spacer is not a direct simple bolt on(not hard, but they neglected to mention some of the other things you need to modify/adjust)
Its Alive, first crank! I have a CEL for PO1345 (because of the new distributor) So I need to run it over to the shop to get that sorted out.
After the test fire (running idle in place) and getting the temps up and checking the oil PSI i cut it off......all good. Something told me to check the oil level......F' me, there is some coolant in the oil now. The oil was clean before I pulled the intake out. So my safe assumtion is that when I pulled the intake out some coolant spilled in to the valley and made its way down into the crankcase. I checked my overflow tank, no coolant missing there. Fingers crossed
So time to drain the oil, toss the filter. I will buy a couple gallons of cheap oil, Marvels Mystery oil and some filters to clean the motor out. I'll report back when I get this done.
Otherwise, my misfire and emission codes are gone and the truck runs great. I'm just glad I followed my normal quality control measures and checked the oil before I took it on a fun test drive.
