Damn. Im really hoping its a fitting or hose or something. Not seeing anything obvious though and its definitely leaking somewhere... Ill have to look closer at the compressor. I'm surprised to have this problem on such a low mileage truck despite its age. Its only got 65k miles...

There's only 5 fittings, in and out of the condensor behind the front grille, in and out of the evaporator at the drier, and the manifold at the compressor. The high side quick connect on the manifold is prone to leaking, mine does, but also the low side could leak and there's another schrader fitting on the drier. Apart from that some trucks have had issues where battery acid leaked onto the line that runs past the battery from the condenser to the drier and corroded it. AS I already mentioned oil will come out where it's leaking. I can't actually see any oil on mine, but the compressor leaks in the center. You could have a leak in the evaporator coil or condenser coil but it's unlikely. My money is on the compressor

Edit: Could also be leaking from the high and low pressure switches. The high is on the drier, schrader valve I mentioned, and the low is on the back of the compressor.

I had an '87 K5. I still miss that truck. It had that look, and I agree with you- it's a great look.

Well dang, what haven't I done to the ol' girl lately. Let's see. New distributor, cap & rotor and now all my weird electric gremlins and weird idle is gone. No more dancing tach! We decided to tackle the rear brakes. Put in my VIN and figure out which rear end I have according the RPO codes and order my rear shoes, drums, wheel cylinders, hardware kits, dif cover gasket and axle seals. Ordered them in March, finally get around to it last week. Start pulling everything apart. Stop and do a double check. Well hot damn, these drums look a little bigger than the 10 inch ones I ordered. Someone had switched out my rear end and I have 11 inch brakes in the back. Off to Advance I go to get all the correct stuff for it. Good thing, the axle seals weren't leaking though. And I finally got some advice on how to get the third blender door actuator out of my truck on the far passenger side so hopefully I'm going to have a/c soon!

Dkknaebel, do you have the 14 bolt rear end (as opposed to the 10 bolt, I think). If so, that's a very nice upgrade. You get the much stronger rear end and 11 inch brakes vs the 10 inch.

You'd think I'd know the answer to that....Let me check some photos. Nope, no photos of the underside. i believe it is just the 10 bolt.

How difficult is changing power steering pressure line hose on a 99 Yukon? Looks straightforward but I've learned not to always judge a book by its cover. Need something to do this coming weekend that wont actually take all weekend.
